They can express their unique experiences, share what might be challenging for them, and finally connect with others authentically. Connection is the opposite of isolation, which is another effect of neurodivergence when it’s undiagnosed and/or unaccepted.

Difficulties with transitions and how to create routines

I often encounter parents telling me that their child struggles with transitions. Be it from the car to the house, from watching TV to eating dinner, switching from playing board games to doing homework, or leaving the house in the morning. Transitions ARE complex, and it is important to transition appropriately! Just have a brief think about how you transition from one place, activity, or task to another. If you really think about it or if you observe yourself when you next transition, you will notice that a comfortable transition takes a lot of cognitive, emotional, and behavioural effort.

Gender Identity: what does this mean?

Gender identity is a complex interaction of several factors. What is self-care?

I often hear people say self-care is a face mask or a bubble bath. If a face mask and a bubble bath means self-care for you that’s great and you are definitely encouraged to continue doing it whenever you feel like it. But let me tell you why self-care can be so much more than that!

Why is praise so important?

Praise is incredibly important for building a child’s self-esteem. Praise is positive feedback from a person of significance (e.g. parents, teachers) that tells the child that it has done something well. This translates to the child learning that they can affect change and influence their environment. In turn this enables the child to think positively and confidently about their abilities and themselves.

My services…

Therapy

  • I specialise in working with 6-25 year olds in the neurodivergent and/or LGBTQ+ communities, and have significant experience working with children, young people and adults with diagnoses of ADHD, autism, or struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, gender dysphoria and more.

As an integrative therapist I am able to draw on a number of different models to flexibly adapt my approach.

  • Fees are set at £110 per 50 minute session.

If you have private healthcare insurance, you may be able to claim the cost against your policy. Please check with your provider.

Concessionary fees may be available upon request, depending on availability.

  • I endeavour to accommodate new and prospective clients within the shortest timeframe possible. However, during busy periods, I may operate a waiting list system.

Usually, I expect to be able to take on new clients within 2-6 weeks of enquiry, which allows sufficient time for you to complete the necessary intake paperwork prior to the first session.

If I’m not able to offer an immediate slot, I will do my best to provide an accurate estimate as to my availability at the time of your enquiry.

ADHD Assessments - Children & Adults

  • In order to maximise efficiency and to minimise costs for clients the diagnostic process is split into two parts: an initial screening; followed by a full assessment if the screening results indicate that a diagnosis of ADHD is likely to be given. You can dultsfind out more about the assessment process here:

  • In order to minimise costs for clients, the diagnostic process is split into two parts.

Stage One (Screening) costs £350. This includes all correspondence with the clinic at any point during working hours, any short phone calls or check-ins, a copy of the QbCheck results as well as immediate feedback of the outcome of the initial assessment.

Stage Two (Assessment) costs £700. This includes analysis of all questionnaire data, conducting the parent appointment, the cost of the full diagnostic report as well as all correspondence with the clinic at any point during working hours, any short phone calls or check-ins.

  • I currently have good availability to conduct assessments, and am usually able to commence the first stage appointment within 2-4 weeks of enquiry. This allows time for you to complete the necessary intake paperwork prior to the initial appointment, as it’s important you provide as full and detailed a picture as possible.

Having made your enquiry, you will receive an email detailing next steps, including an appointment booking link. This allows you to view all available appointment times and schedule in a time and date that work best for you.
